Simon owes his thanks to the people from different areas of our business who work together as a team to achieve this success
“Our success depends on collaboration across our cross-functional team and these awards are recognition of the hard work of every person involved in running the service.”
Sky Store was a double winner at the Home Entertainment Industry Awards, picking up the ‘Digital Retailer of the Year' title in both the rental and ownership categories.
BASE is the recent rebrand of the British Video Association and each year their Awards event highlight the innovative and imaginative ways the home entertainment industry engages with and excites customers.
With such strong growth in the digital video market, the Digital Video Retailer of the Year was split in two for the first time into two award to recognize rental and ownership separately. Over 1,000 people representing all the major studios and retailers were in attendance at Tobacco Dock in London to see Sky Store beat off competition from the likes of Amazon and iTunes to take both accolades.
It’s proof that Sky Store has become an essential basis of the digital video market by challenging traditional approaches, with our campaign to launch pre-order as a new category being called out by the judges as “a marketing investment not previously seen in the digital ownership space”.
Simon Creasey, Director of Sky Store, who picked up the awards on the night, said: “This is a fantastic endorsement of our investment in Buy & Keep and our ongoing marketing support of new releases. Offering Sky Store across devices allows us to deliver more value from Buy & Keep to our subscribers as well as opening up the service to everyone. We are already the number one digital retailer on many new release movies and our campaigns for Spectre and Star Wars were the largest ever digital pre-order sales in the UK.“To follow up last year’s Retail Initiative of the Year award for the launch of Buy & Keep with a clean sweep of the two Digital Retailer categories shows just how quickly we had established ourselves as a key industry player. Our success depends on collaboration across a broad cross-functional team and these awards are recognition of the hard work of each and every person involved in running the service. Our sales figures and NPS scores tell us how highly our customers regard what we do and these awards show that the Studios consider us to be the very best at what we do.”
